projects/side projects

Spent all of last week learning how to cut letters into marble, everything still aches now but not for as long as I'm going to have a piece of marble with my initials carved into it.

Late at night/ early in the morning photos of a Copenhagen Colouring book I made for my mum's birthday. Got stuck on the idea last year that when something is done it is finished in every way, and no longer of any interest to me as a designer.  So the drawings are just in pencil, can be altered and adding colour will change them completely. The colourer-in brings a new (imagined) element to it, it's not just documentation of places and things anymore. Any anyway, there's no fun left in a coloured-in colouring book (which is what this could have been).

Saturday is hot enough that the ice cream runs all down your hands once you break through the chocolate (and the ice cream shop is full of sweaty tourists). Sunday all wispy clouds & dry swirling leaves on the cycle path. Savouring both.
